The Moon pendant light in opal is based on Verner Panton’s early design from 1960 and represents one of the purest expressions of his work with light as a form-defining element. The characteristic fan-like arrangement of ten circular lamellae creates a dynamic silhouette that changes depending on the viewing angle, adding visual depth to the space.
In the opal version, the lamellae are made of translucent acrylic, which gently filters and diffuses the light into a warm, soft glow. The luminaire provides pleasant, glare-free illumination while maintaining a light and almost ethereal presence. The ceiling canopy is designed in a clean, minimalist manner so as not to disturb the overall composition.
With a diameter of 34 cm, it is an ideal choice above a dining table, coffee table or in a smaller living area. It works beautifully as a standalone piece, yet performs equally well in installations of multiple units, where repetition of the form creates rhythm and a harmonious lighting composition.
The Moon pendant light is also available in several additional sizes and finishes.
