The Fun collection is one of Verner Panton’s most distinctive designs from the mid-1960s. First introduced in 1964, it quickly became an icon of his experimental and sensory approach to design. Fun lamps are not only sources of light, but also elements of movement, texture and atmosphere.
The characteristic feature is the chains of mother-of-pearl shell discs suspended on metal rings. These gently filter the light, diffusing it into a soft, warm glow and producing a subtle, almost musical sound when in motion. The structure consists of a chrome or brass-plated metal frame with carefully crafted details, highlighting the contrast between technical construction and the organic texture of the shells.
Fun lights work beautifully not only in living rooms and bedrooms, but also in entrance halls, restaurants and hotels, where they act as a striking feature.
