String System is a true design icon with a wide range of advantages that cannot be denied. Those of you who are already familiar with the String System will surely agree. And if this is the first time you've come across the String brand today - all the better, we'd love to introduce you to this fresh new addition to our range!
The String brand offers a lightweight shelving system that you can freely assemble from thin metal side panels and a wide range of hanging shelves, chests of drawers or even tables to perfectly match your interior.
The shelving system was created in the 1950s by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning. Due to its instant popularity, it became one of the main icons of the time and it is no surprise that its timeless design is still popular around the world today.
However, it was also the genesis of a competition launched in 1949 by Bonnier, Sweden's largest publishing house at the time, to design a shelving system primarily for book storage that met three basic attributes: it had to be easy to assemble, transportable and affordable. Such a system already existed in Nisse Strinning's mind, and the competition he subsequently won with his design was the final impetus for its realisation.
Thanks to a wide range of components, the String system can be tailored to your space and any room in your house. The String system also includes the String Pocket collection of compact shelves.
We would be delighted if you would take a look at our complete range. And for inspiration, we have prepared some inspirational photos at the end of this article:
