Scandinavian style is more of a philosophy of life than a single visual style. We have delved into our range and created 7 inspirational product selections that represent different sub-styles = Tones of Design.

For 11 years we have been selecting the best products, especially Scandinavian design, complemented by other timeless design icons from other major non-Scandinavian brands such as Vitra or Flos. Together this adds up to an impressive portfolio of both - timeless and brand new - design pieces that you can furnish your entire home with without exaggeration.

To make it easier and more enjoyable for you, we've put together some stylistically consistent inspirational product selections which we've called Tones of Design:

1/ Mid-century modern

Mid-century Modern

If we have to start somewhere, we can't do better than with Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, the Eamses, George Nelson, Paul Henningsen and other great designers whose key works date around the middle of the last century.

Mid-century modern is not just a museum selection of various solitaires, but a signature consistent style characterised by clean lines, organic shapes and a distinctive colour scheme with shades such as mustard, petrol or olive. Inside, the interior looks timeless, airy and respectful of natural materials. The portfolios of Vitra, Fritz Hansen, &traditon, String, Louis Poulsen, Gubi and others are packed with Mid-Century Modern icons.

2/ Japandi

Japandi Zen World

Japandi is one of the most popular trends in contemporary interior design. The Zen world is created by a harmonious fusion of impeccable Scandinavian craftsmanship and Japanese attention to detail. Eastern aesthetics have inspired the designers of Bolia, 101 Copenhagen, New Works, Ferm Living and &tradition to a greater extent.

3/ Hi-tech & masculinity

Tóny Hi-tech

In the third inspirational selection, we combined technically precise, structurally sophisticated, sometimes quite subtle products of hi-tech style with sculptural, often stylistically brutalist forms. These two opposites actually complement each other perfectly, don't you think? We were chosing mainly from the portfolios of Flos, Vitra, HAY, Muuto, Normann Copenhagen and Northern.

4/ Embrace the nature

Embrace the Nature

Embrace the nature selection is characterised by organic shapes, a combination of neutral and dense earthy tones and a clear preference for natural materials such as wood, terracotta or linen textiles. Slight variations due to handcrafting only confirm authenticity and are welcome here. This style is the signature look of Ferm Living.

5/ Sophisticated elegance

Sophisticated Elegance

We totally see this style in interiors with high, preferably stuccoed ceilings. Light and sophisticated elegance relies mainly on the finest natural materials and refined minimalist forms. The selection mainly consists of travertine, marble, quality upholstered chairs and armchairs, adding minimalist lighting fixtures or those slightly more decorative ones close to art-deco style. Details in brass or chrome often provide an accent. This style is typical of the work of brands such as New Works, Audo, &tradition, 101 Copenhagen, Norr 11, Gubi or Nuura.

6/ Nordic colour

Nordic Colour

Scandinavian brands have worked with bold colours rather sporadically. In recent years - whether due to the globalisation of the market - or the gradual evolution of aesthetics, more and more Scandinavian manufacturers have ventured into the colourful waters, as evidenced by our Nordic colour selection.

After an initial reserved reception in the early 1970s, the Flowerpot and Panthella lamps by Verner Panton in the portfolio of &tradition and Louis Poulsen, for example, have now been rehabilitated and become really popular. HAY, Normann Copenhagen and Muuto in particular are not afraid of more expressive colour pieces, while Muuto works with a predominantly pastel palette.

7/ Scandinavian essential

essential

And paradoxically, we're finally bringing you a selection called just Scandinavian essential. We have selected the products that are the most typical protagonists of Scandinavian style. Simple in shape, clean in style and unpretentious in expression. At the same time, we have selected the most affordable products in our product portfolio. If you are furnishing your first home in Scandinavian style, then this selection is full of must-have pieces.
