The Wire portable lamp is based on Verner Panton’s iconic design from the early 1970s, translating its characteristic open construction into a flexible, cordless format. It retains the lightness of the steel wire frame and the distinctive opal dome, while offering freedom of movement and placement without the need for a fixed power connection.
The chrome-plated stainless steel frame, composed of fine concentric lines, transitions into an opal plastic shade with a diffuser that ensures soft and even light distribution. The contrast between the industrial structure and the softly glowing dome remains a defining feature of the entire Wire series.
The integrated LED light source with a colour temperature of 2700 K provides a warm and pleasant glow. The lamp offers three-step dimming to adjust the light intensity according to the setting. The integrated battery charges in approximately 7 hours and delivers up to 9 hours of illumination at maximum output. With an IP44 rating, it is suitable not only for indoor use but also for terraces or balconies.
The Wire portable lamp works beautifully on a bedside table, desk or bookshelf, or as atmospheric lighting for outdoor evening gatherings. It is available in several additional colour finishes and combines effortlessly with the table and floor versions from the collection.
