The Stools were designed in 1960 by Charles and Ray Eames as part of the interior furnishings for the Rockefeller Centre in New York. The result was a series of solid wood stools that straddle the line between practical seating and decorative objects. The seat is slightly concave, providing a comfortable place to sit without appearing cumbersome, and can also serve as a small side table.
Each stool model features a characteristically shaped base and, thanks to its different profile, can be used as a stand-alone piece or as part of a group. The Stools are made of solid wood of European origin with a hard wax oil finish that emphasises the grain of the material and gives it a soft, matt appearance. Thanks to their versatility, they can be used in the living room, bedroom, hallway and study, where they combine functionality with a distinctive aesthetic expression.
