The iconic S.A.M. Bois table was designed by French designer Jean Prouvé for the company of the same name during 1941 and 1942. The reason for this was simple - during the Second World War there was a shortage of metal, so it was no longer possible to produce a version of the EM Table with an all-metal base. That is why the table in wood saw the light of day. It replaced its conventional predecessor and became one of the true design icons of the world.
The solid wood with a fine oiled finish, together with the black painted steel detail at the bottom of the table, creates an unmistakable visual character.
