The Parentesi suspension lamp is one of the iconic designs of Italian design, combining technical simplicity with imaginative function. Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzu's concept from the 1970s brings an unconventional way of working with light to interiors that is still relevant today.
The lamps consists of a vertically stretched steel cable 4 metres long, which runs from the ceiling to the floor. The light unit itself moves along this cable, so you can easily change its height and direct the light exactly where it is needed. The lamp works great as a focused reading light, but also as a subtle ambient light reflected from the wall or ceiling.
The cord is anchored between the ceiling and the floor with a weight that ensures it is kept under stable tension without the need to be firmly attached to the floor. The design combines nickel steel with a durable elastomer head that allows the light to be precisely directed. An integrated dimmer switch is located on the cable, which allows the light intensity to be infinitely adjusted according to the current need.
The Parentesi pendant lamp is suitable for living areas, work areas and bedrooms, where it offers variable lighting without the need for classic floor lamps. It is available in several other colours.
