Panton Cubes prove that even a few simple geometric elements can offer almost unlimited scope for the imagination. Verner Panton designed this modular system back in the 1970s, using the individual cubes at the time to create a wide variety of figures and abstract shapes. Vitra is now reviving his playful concept in the form of building sets that can be used to assemble several distinctive animal figures.
The system consists of cubic frames connected by clips and complemented by colored or chrome-plated panels. The individual parts are made of recycled ABS plastic and can be repeatedly reassembled into new configurations. The pre-assembled animals thus serve only as a starting point; you can take the cubes apart and use your imagination to create an entirely new decorative object.
