Designers Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Ståhlbom founded TAF in 2002 in a former bakery in Stockholm. As they say themselves, the bakery is a fitting parallel for their work: they want to create design that fits into everyday life just like fresh bread. From TAF you may know, for example, the popular Ambit lamps.
The Ambit lamps for Muuto are central to their work for several reasons. In them, the architects combine the approaches they care about most. They try to breathe new life into the home and turn completely ordinary objects into extraordinary ones. At the same time, they start from where they are: they draw inspiration from their immediate surroundings and, through very efficient changes, turn classic shapes into less expected ones. You can find out more about the studio on its official website.
The Ambit lamps come in several versions. You can choose the pendant by size, colour or shape, and the collection also includes a wall lamp and a rail lamp. Other pieces by TAF Studio that follow the same principles are the 70/70 tables, whose fine top and well-thought-out base suit any interior and let the material stand out, and the Rime and Fine pendant lamps, all made by Muuto.
