The Series 7 is the famous stackable chair designed exclusively for Fritz Hansen in 1955 by Danish designer Arne Jacobsen. The finish is fully black lacquered ash veneer, the wood grain is not visible.
Arne Jacobsen designed a chair called "Model 3107" as a variation and development of the Ant. In doing so, he used a technology invented by Charles and Ray Eames that allows plywood to be bent in three directions under pressure.
Today, the Series 7 collection is by far the best-selling chair in Fritz Hansen 's history and possibly the best-selling chair ever: over 5 million units have been sold.
