The Maap W2 wall lamp works with light in an unconventional way. Instead of a clearly defined source, it creates a wide light surface that looks soft, natural and almost weightless. Here, the light is not diffused from a single point, but from the entire lamp structure.
Erwan Bouroullec designed the lamp as an object between lighting and wall decoration. The characteristic diffuser made of ultra-thin material is hand-shaped directly during installation, giving each piece an original form. At the same time, the finely crumpled surface creates a structure that gives the lamp volume, stability and lightness.
The design combines a lightweight diffusion shell, a metal support structure and LED light sources that together create generous ambient lighting. The diffuser is attached to the structure with distinctive magnetic brackets that also allow it to be free-formed.
Maap is perfectly suited for living rooms, hotel spaces and representative commercial projects, where it functions not only as a light source but also as a striking solitary element on the wall.
