In 2013, he founded a design studio. Van Hengel does not forget to imprint his individuality and surprising elements with which he enriches everyday objects. With an emphasis on functionality, sophistication and technology, the furniture, lightning and accessories steped in the center of his focus.
His special ability to deal with any problem gave the foundation to Muuto's Folded shelves made of a single piece of metal. His other designs include, for example, the minimalist 30 Degrees pendants, which he designed for the Danish brand HAY.
