Designed in the 1930s, the Kaiser Idell is an iconic timeless series of lamps designed by German designer Christian Dell. Based on a patented swivel joint, these lamps represent the best of the original Bauhaus design.

Kaiser Idell lamps were originally manufactured by the German company Gebr. Kaiser & Co. Therefore "Kaiser" is the name of the manufacturer, and the word "Idell" is a combination of the words "idea" and "Dell". Today, the Kaiser Idell brand is owned by Fritz Hansen.

These lamps are made of chrome-plated brass, the lampshades are made of hand-painted steel. To distinguish the original from the numerous low-quality copies, the text "ORIGINAL KAISER-Idell" is engraved on the shade of all lamps.
