TheEames DAR (Dining Armchair Rod) was designed by designers and husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s to produce a chair that would adapt perfectly to the human body while being durable and easy to handle. These requirements have materialized in a chair that has become an icon of modern design over the years. The chair is designed to be used at home, in the office and in public spaces.
All Eames chairs are characterised by a contoured seat that adapts perfectly and offers comfortable seating thanks to the armrests. This variant also impresses with its revolutionary steel base, which is called the "Eiffel Tower". The complex steel wire construction inimitably combines light, elegant shapes with structural strength.
In addition to the re-edition in fibreglass, the Vitra Eames chair is now manufactured in solid polypropylene. The chair is available in several colour options, which you can choose from a swatch book where you also have a choice of three colours for the steel structure. Likewise, you can choose the seat padding design from the swatch book, which is made of high quality Hopsak fabric in 35 colours. Please specify your choice in the order notes.
As standard, the chairs are supplied with glides for hard floors (if you would like glides for carpet, please specify this in the notes).
