The Aluminium Chair is one of the best designs of the 20th century. Charles and Ray Eames designed the chair in 1958 for the private residence of an American art collector. Instead of a shell, the couple devised a seat that consists of two aluminum rods with fabric or leather stretched between them.
The Soft Pad Chairs were designed in 1969. Their construction and shape are similar to the design of Aluminum Chairs. Compared to them, thanks to the voluminous cushions contrasting with the smooth aluminium frames, they are even more comfortable and softer.
