The Bascule collection of lounge chairs is designed around comfort through natural movement. A special mechanism responds to changes in body position, allowing the lounge chair to smoothly follow your movements while seated, without requiring any complicated adjustments. The relaxed character is emphasized by soft upholstery and a loosely draped cover, whose folds naturally change with the chair’s movement.
When designing the upholstery, Studio Œ drew inspiration from tailoring techniques in the world of fashion. Much like a well-fitting jacket, the fabric conforms to the chair’s structure while allowing it plenty of freedom of movement. Furthermore, the upholstery can be completely removed and replaced, making it easy to change the chair’s appearance over the years.
The Bascule’s construction requires no adhesives, and individual materials and components can be separated, repaired, or replaced. The cushion filling uses recycled fibers and V-Foam. The collection offers various designs of armchairs and ottomans that are perfect for the living room, a reading nook, or a comfortable lounge area in an office or hotel.
