The System 1-2-3 chair collection was introduced in 1973 as one of Verner Panton’s most progressive designs. Here, Panton explored the idea of universal seating that combines comfort, structural logic and a distinctive yet easy-to-integrate silhouette.
A defining feature is the shaped, fully upholstered shell set on a slender steel frame. The ergonomically formed backrest flows smoothly into the seat, providing comfort even during longer periods of sitting. The chair appears compact and soft and stable seating experience.
The structure consists of a steel frame with high-quality HR foam filling. It is available with a chrome-plated butterfly base or a round base in brushed aluminium. Both options emphasise the lightness of the design while ensuring stability and durability.
