The PH Artichoke pendant lamps, created in 1958 by legendary Danish designer Poul Henningsen, have been among the most iconic lamps in global design since their inception. Their distinctive artichoke-like silhouette was created as a bold lighting installation for the modernist Langelinie Pavilion in Copenhagen and remains a symbol of the timeless combination of technical precision and aesthetic grandeur.
The structure, consisting of 72 metal ‘leaves’ arranged in twelve precise rows, ensures uniform, completely glare-free lighting regardless of the viewing angle. The light is directed both inwards and outwards, creating a soft, natural brightness that not only illuminates the space but also elevates it.
PH Artichoke stands out as a solitary element in a dining room, living room or entrance hall – and is equally impressive in public spaces, galleries or hotel lobbies, where the designer lamp becomes an architectural feature.
