Kaj Franck (1911-1989) was a leading Finnish designer who significantly influenced the shape of modern Scandinavian dining. His name also carries a prestigious designer award.

Finnish designer Kaj Franck is one of the leading figures in Scandinavian design, who, with the design of the Teema porcelain or Kartio glass collections, has indelibly become popular with fans of minimalist but high-quality dining. Franck worked as a professor at the Helsinki School of Art and Design and as an internationally renowned designer he received many awards – including the prestigious Finnish design award: Kaj Franck Design Prize, bears his name.
