The cylindrical shape of the lamps is inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns. The name of the collection, Hashira, which means column in Japanese, is in the same vein.
The lamp is handmade from linen, which diffuses a pleasant warm light. When lit, the stabilising grid is visible, which adds a certain texture to the lamp's design.
