The Flying Chair is one of Verner Panton’s bold designs, pushing the boundary between furniture and architectural object. It works as a striking statement piece as well as a playful element that introduces movement, dynamism and a unique experience into the space.
The fully upholstered body is suspended from the ceiling using two polyester ropes with steel fittings. Both the height and seating position can be individually adjusted, allowing the chair to be adapted to the space and the user. Gentle swinging creates a feeling of relaxation and offers a completely different type of comfort compared to traditional fixed seating.
The structure is made of FSC-certified moulded plywood combined with a supporting steel frame. PU foam filling ensures comfort and long-lasting shape retention. The combination of solid construction and soft upholstery creates a balanced design that feels visually light.
The Flying Chair is ideal for open-plan living areas, loft interiors, creative studios and hotel lounge spaces. The price is valid for the version upholstered in Hallingdal fabric. Please contact us for a quotation if you are interested in other upholstery options.
