Birger Dahl

Norway

Norwegian designer Birger Dahl (1916 - 1998) is one of Norway's main post-war architects and pioneers of Scandinavian design in the field of lighting. His main work dates back to the 1950s - the so-called modernist era.

Typical for his luminaires is some form of geometric shapes – cones and cylinders. He preferred to work with the basic form of objects than with the layering of ornaments. Some of its luminaires are still manufactured today and you will find them in our range thanks to the manufacturer Northern. These are a series of Dokka, Birdy and Dahl luminaires.
