Barba Corsini (1916 - 2008) was one of the main representatives of functionalist architecture and gained world recognition because of his design of the reconstruction of the attic space and interior equipment for La Pedrera. Corsini was strongly influenced by German architect Mies van der Rohe and American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. He had a close relationship with Finnish architecture, in which he admired straightforwardness and simplicity.
