Verner Panton's Flowerpot lamp design bears the imprint of the wonderful era in which it was created. In 1968, student riots in Paris, Rome and the United States launched the Flower Power revolution and brought new values - peace, love and harmony. In the same year, Stanley Kubrick presented his vision of 2001, which included Verner Panton's chair, and man was soon to take his first steps on the moon. In the design world, the colourful and playful Flowerpot luminaire made its way from exhibitions and restaurants to people's homes. With the Flowerpot, Verner Panton captured the mood of the hippie movement and the excitement of landing on the moon.
